The 3 Levels Every Intraday Trader Must Watch Before Market Open

Most traders start their day staring at a chart with no plan. They react instead of preparing. That's why most traders lose.

Here's the framework our team uses every single morning before the opening bell:

1. Previous Day High & Low (PDH/PDL)

These are your first reference points. Institutions track these levels religiously. If price opens above PDH, buyers are in control. Below PDL, sellers are running the show. Between them? It's a range day — trade accordingly.

2. Overnight High & Low (ONH/ONL)

Futures trade 23 hours a day. The overnight session sets the tone. Gaps above ONH or below ONL create momentum. When price fills back into the overnight range, that's a mean reversion setup.

3. VWAP (Volume Weighted Average Price)

This is the institutional benchmark. If price is above VWAP, the trend is bullish intraday. Below VWAP, it's bearish. The first test of VWAP after the open is one of the highest-probability trades of the day.

Put it together:

Before 9:30 AM, mark all 5 levels on your chart. Know which scenario you're in. Have your plan BEFORE the candle prints.
