Why 90% of e-commerce product videos fail (and how to fix yours)
I've edited hundreds of product videos. Here's what I see brands getting wrong every single time:
โ Too long. Your customer decides in 1.5 seconds whether to keep watching. If your video doesn't hook in the first frame, it's dead.
โ Features over feelings. Nobody cares about "500mAh battery." They care about "never runs out on a long day." Show the lifestyle, not the spec sheet.
โ Bad lighting kills trust. A $20 ring light and a clean background instantly makes your product look 10x more premium than a shaky phone video on a messy desk.
โ No clear CTA. The video ends and... nothing. Tell them where to buy. Make it obvious.
The brands winning right now all have one thing in common: they invest in content that sells, not just content that exists.
