Welcome to the Hope Diamond Curse Mentorship
Welcome — you just made a decision most people never will.
You didn't sign up for a history class. You signed up to learn how to think critically about the stories the world tells itself.
What to do right now
Start the course — Module 1 sets the foundation. Don't skip it, even if you think you know the basics. The Tavernier lesson alone will change how you read every "cursed object" article you've ever seen.
Introduce yourself in the Mentor Q&A — Tell us: what cursed object first got you interested? What's one claim you've always been skeptical about?
Set up your research workspace — Module 4 walks you through this, but get a head start by creating a free Zotero account and a bookmarks folder called "Cursed Object Research."
How this mentorship works
Course: 5 modules, 15 lessons, sequential completion. Each builds on the last. The final project is a full curse investigation on an object of your choice.
Mentor Q&A: Ask questions anytime. I personally review every post.
Updates & Resources: New primary source finds, tool recommendations, and case studies posted regularly.
One rule
Sources over stories. Always. If you can't cite it, you can't claim it. That's the standard here, and it's what will make your research bulletproof.
Let's get to work.
