The average wrongfully convicted person serves 14 years before exoneration. Fourteen years of lost birthdays, missed funerals, children growing up without a parent — for a crime they didn't commit.

And when they're finally released? Most states offer zero reentry support. No housing. No therapy. No job placement. They walk out the door with nothing but the clothes the state gives them.
