The 3-inbox rule that stops multi-brand DM leakage
If you run more than one brand, you already know the pattern.
Instagram on brand A. WhatsApp on brand B. A story reply at 11pm that you swear you'll answer in the morning. By noon it's buried, and that person bought from someone who replied in 4 minutes.
I started tracking this on my own inboxes. Three things kept showing up:
1. Repeats eat the real conversations. "What's the price?" "Do you ship?" "Is this still available?" Those should never sit in the same pile as a buyer ready to pay.
2. Waiting threads are the actual leak. Not the ones you answered. The ones still sitting. If it's older than a few hours and it's a buyer, that's a lost sale, not a "follow up later."
3. Brand-switching is where messages die. You close one inbox, open another, and the first one is already behind. One queue. Every brand. That's the only setup that doesn't lie to you.
I built InboxPilot around those three. Not another chatbot. A queue that tells you what's waiting and what can be answered once.
If you're running multiple brands and still hopping apps, count your unanswered threads from yesterday. That's your number.
