Why most youth soccer training fails between sessions
Ran indoor academy sessions for competitive teens for a while now, and the biggest gap isn't what happens on the turf — it's the 6 days between sessions where nothing happens.
A kid gets great touches in for 90 minutes once or twice a week, then goes silent until the next session. No reinforcement, no film review, no structure. The coaches with the best retention aren't the ones with the fanciest facility — they're the ones who give players something to do on the off days: a drill to film and send back, a clip to break down, a small chat to stay accountable in.
That's the whole idea behind building this as a hybrid setup — in-person reps for the stuff that needs a coach's eyes live, and an online layer (drills library + chat + film review) for everything in between. If you're running any kind of youth or academy program, I'd bet the biggest lever isn't more sessions — it's what happens between them.
