The 3 mistakes every beginner makes in the gym (and how to fix them)
I've been training for years and I see the same three mistakes from every new gym-goer. If you fix these, you'll progress faster than 90% of beginners.
Mistake #1: Program hopping
You do a random split from TikTok for two weeks, see no results, and switch to something else. The program isn't the problem — the consistency is. Pick ONE plan and follow it for 8-12 weeks minimum.
Mistake #2: Ego lifting
Nobody cares how much you bench. Seriously. Lighter weight with good form will build more muscle and keep you injury-free. Check your ego at the door.
Mistake #3: Ignoring nutrition
You can't out-train a bad diet. You don't need to be perfect, but you do need to eat enough protein (aim for 0.7-1g per pound of bodyweight) and eat in a slight surplus if you're trying to build muscle.
Fix these three things and you'll be ahead of most people in the gym within a month.
