Every blown account has the same story: someone skipped the fundamentals and jumped straight into live trading.
Don't be that person.
Before you risk a single dollar, these are the non-negotiables you need to master:
1. Market Structure
Price doesn't move randomly. It trends, consolidates, and reverses β and it does so in patterns. Learn to identify higher highs, higher lows (uptrend) and lower highs, lower lows (downtrend). If you can't read structure, you can't read the market. Period.
2. Support & Resistance β But Not the Way Retail Teaches It
Lines on a chart mean nothing if you don't understand WHY price reacts at certain levels. It's not magic β it's unfilled orders, liquidity pools, and institutional interest. Stop drawing random lines and start understanding what's behind them.
3. Risk Management
This is the single most important skill in trading. If you don't manage risk, nothing else matters.
Never risk more than 1-2% of your account per trade
Always define your stop loss BEFORE entering
Position sizing > win rate. You can be profitable winning only 40% of the time with the right risk-to-reward
4. Candlestick Psychology
Candles aren't just shapes β they represent the battle between buyers and sellers. A long wick isn't just a wick β it's rejection. A doji isn't just indecision β it's a warning. Learn to read what the candle is telling you about who's in control.
5. Timeframe Alignment
If your higher timeframe says bearish and you're buying on the 5-minute chart, you're fighting the trend. Always start with the higher timeframe for direction, then drop down for entries. Top-down analysis is non-negotiable.
6. Trading Plan & Journal
No plan = gambling. Write down your rules:
What setups do you take?
What's your entry criteria?
What's your exit criteria?
What's your risk per trade?
Then journal every single trade. Review weekly. If you're not journaling, you're not improving.
7. Psychology
Fear, greed, revenge trading, FOMO β these will destroy your account faster than a bad strategy. Learn to sit on your hands when there's no setup. Learn to accept losses without doubling down. Discipline beats talent every single time.

Master these 7 fundamentals before you even think about going live. Paper trade. Backtest. Get reps in.
This game rewards preparation, not emotion.
