The 3 Things That Actually Changed My Trading (Not What You Think)
I've been trading for a while now. Blew accounts. Failed prop firm challenges. Stared at charts for 12 hours and still took bad trades.
Here are the 3 things that actually moved the needle — and none of them are a "secret strategy."
1. I stopped trading every day.
This sounds backwards. But the days I forced trades because I "needed to be in the market" were always my worst days. Now I have a rule: if my setup isn't there in the first 2 hours, I close the charts. My win rate went up 15% just from this.
2. I started journaling every single trade.
Not just the entries and exits. I write down what I was feeling. Was I bored? Was I revenge trading? Was I chasing? Once I started seeing the patterns in my behavior — not just the charts — everything clicked. Most of my losses came from the same 2-3 emotional mistakes.
3. I accepted that consistency beats profitability.
Sounds weird, right? But here's what I mean: I stopped trying to have big green days and started trying to follow my plan perfectly. Some days that meant making $50. Some days it meant taking zero trades. But over a month? The numbers spoke for themselves.
None of this is flashy. None of it will get likes on TikTok. But it's the truth about what actually works.
I'm building JB Trades to document this entire process — the wins, the losses, the lessons. No cherry-picked screenshots. No guru energy. Just a trader figuring it out and sharing everything along the way.
If that sounds like your kind of community, the door's open.
