Stop Paying Plumbers for These 3 Fixes
I've been doing home repair for years and it still blows my mind what people pay plumbers for. These 3 fixes take under 30 minutes and cost less than $20 in parts:
1. Running toilet — 99% of the time it's the flapper valve. $8 part, 10 minutes. Lift the tank lid, unhook the old flapper, hook on the new one. Done.
2. Slow-draining sink — Remove the P-trap (the U-shaped pipe under the sink), clean it out, put it back. $0. Maybe $5 for a new trap if yours is corroded.
3. Low water pressure on a faucet — Unscrew the aerator (the tip of the faucet), soak it in vinegar for an hour, scrub with a toothbrush. Free.
That's $200-400 in plumber calls you just skipped.
I share stuff like this regularly inside Jbo Collective — real fixes, tool recommendations, and help with whatever project you're tackling. The chat is full of people who actually build and fix things.
