Why most JEE aspirants waste their first 3 months (and how to fix it)
I've watched dozens of aspirants start strong and burn out by October. The pattern is always the same.
Mistake 1: Studying 10 subjects at once
You open the syllabus, panic, and try to cover everything simultaneously. Physics, Chemistry, Maths — all chapters running in parallel. You end up remembering nothing.
Fix: Go deep on one subject at a time for 2-3 weeks. Finish Mechanics before you touch Electrostatics. Complete Mole Concept before jumping to Organic. Your brain consolidates better when you batch.
Mistake 2: Watching lectures ≠ learning
8 hours of video lectures in a day feels productive. But if you can't solve a single problem from that chapter without looking at notes, you didn't learn anything.
Fix: 1 hour lecture → 2 hours problem solving. Always. The ratio matters more than the hours.
Mistake 3: Ignoring previous year questions until the last month
PYQs are literally the exam telling you what it values. Every year, 30-40% of questions are direct variations of past papers.
Fix: After every chapter, solve the last 10 years of PYQs for that topic. Not at the end — right after you finish learning it.
The aspirants who crack JEE aren't smarter. They just don't waste time on things that don't move the needle.
