Most "dead" leads aren't dead. They're waiting.
After 21 years on a dealership floor, I can tell you the quiet ones in the CRM are rarely finished.
They're waiting for a next step that isn't "just checking in."
Here's the 60-second test I use before I write a single message:
Was this an authorised enquiry, or a name on a list? If it was a list, stop.
Did they give a real reason for delay — finance, trade-in, timing, spouse — or did we just go silent?
Can I name one useful next action in one sentence? If I can't, I don't message. I close it with a reason or I set a nurture date.
AI can help you draft. It cannot give you judgement. And never paste customer names, numbers, or finance details into a public AI tool.
That's the work. Not more noise.
