Module 1 of the Academy focuses on fundamental ideas and practical information required to delve into carbon trading. Module 1 aims to paint a clear picture on carbon market’s role in sustaining financial support in global greenhouse gas emission reduction while ensuring low-carbon just and inclusive development.

Module 1 will specifically cover:

1. Part 1 – Climate and Carbon: climate change drivers, international commitments, NDCs, and the establishment of the carbon market mechanism.

2. Part 2 – Carbon Markets: compliance and voluntary market mechanisms, key terminology, and Indonesia's carbon market development.

3. Part 3 – Carbon Projects: nature-based and technology-based solutions, project types, and development basics.

4. Part 4 – Carbon Trading and Sustainability: carbon credits, trading mechanisms, Indonesia's system, risks, co-benefits, and socio-economic impacts.
