This is the introductory version of the course, designed for those who are new to this teaching.
It offers the wisdom of ancient Zen not as difficult discipline or abstract theory, but in a simple and accessible form that can be applied to the struggles of modern life.
The course is focused on two essential parts:
The Three Categories of Suffering
Zen: What All Suffering Has in Common
You will first learn how many different forms of suffering can be understood through three core patterns: attachment, comparison, and delusion.
By doing so, struggles that once felt vague begin to take shape, and it becomes easier to see what you are truly suffering from.
From there, you will learn Zen as the common ground beneath all suffering—Zen as the return to the here and now.
This becomes the starting point for cultivating the basic ability to steady your mind, rather than being carried away by your struggles.
This course is especially suited for those who want to begin with an entry point into Zen wisdom, and for those who want a simple but meaningful framework for understanding their own suffering without committing to something too heavy at the start.
