The 10-minute after-school math routine that doesn't start a fight
After work, kids are tired. You are too. Handing them a 20-page packet is how you get tears at the table.
This is what actually works with 4–7 year olds:
Same chair, same time. Kitchen table, right after snack. Not “whenever we remember.”
One skill per night. Tracing or counting. Not both. A tired brain cannot switch.
Stop while they are still winning. Ten minutes. Timer goes off, pencils down, even mid-page. They leave feeling capable.
Put finished pages on the fridge. A binder they never open does not count as progress.
If they stall, you do the first example, they do the next. If they stall again, the session is over. Tomorrow exists.
That is the whole method. Short, daily, no drama. The printable is just the pages. The routine is the product.
