I tracked 3,200 product launches last month. Here's what I found.
Most founders find out about new tools after the launch window closes.
By the time they see a tweet about it, the early adopter slots are gone, the AppSumo deal is dead, and the competitor already has a 2-week head start.
Last month I tracked every product that launched on Product Hunt, AppSumo, BetaList, and 12 other platforms. Here's what stood out:
The launches that 10x'd in 30 days all had 3 things in common:
They launched on a Tuesday or Wednesday (not Monday, not Friday)
They had a specific niche — not "for teams", but "for solo ops managers at 10-50 person SaaS companies"
They cross-posted on exactly 3 platforms within the first 48 hours
The ones that flopped? Most were copying a product that launched 3-6 months ago with no differentiation.
The market tells you everything — if you know how to read it.
That's why I built LaunchSpy: real-time tracking of every significant product launch, so you can spot patterns, identify whitespace, and catch opportunities before the crowd does.
