Why Your PI Firm's $10k/mo Ad Spend Is Signing Half the Cases It Should

Most car accident firms I audit have the same problem: they're great at generating leads and terrible at converting them into signed cases.

Here's the pattern I see over and over:

1. The landing page sells the wrong thing.

Your landing page shouldn't sell "free consultation." It should sell the relief of having someone fight for them. The emotional gap between "I was just in an accident" and "fill out this form" is massive — and most firms ignore it completely.

2. Follow-up timing is backwards.

The average PI firm sends their first follow-up email 4-6 hours after a lead comes in. By then, that person has already filled out 3 other firms' forms. The first 15 minutes determine everything.

3. Intake scripts are interrogations, not conversations.

Your intake team asks "where did the accident happen" before they ask "are you okay?" The lead doesn't feel heard. They hang up and call the next firm on Google.

4. Retargeting copy is lazy.

"Were you in a car accident? Call us today!" — that's not retargeting copy, that's a billboard from 2004. Retargeting should address the specific objection that stopped them from signing the first time.

I've spent the last few years rebuilding these pipelines for PI firms in competitive metro markets — Miami, Houston, Phoenix, LA. The fix isn't more ad spend. It's better conversion copy at every touchpoint.

If your firm spends $10k+ on ads and you're not signing at least 30-40% of qualified leads, the problem isn't your ads. It's everything that happens after someone clicks.
