Why most beginner traders lose money on signals (and how to actually use them)

Most people join a signals group, copy every trade blindly, and blow up their account within a month. Here's the pattern I see over and over:

  1. No position sizing. They ape the same size into every signal regardless of confidence or volatility.

  2. No stop-loss discipline. They move stops further away instead of cutting losses.

  3. No context. They don't know why a trade was called — so when it goes wrong, they don't know whether to hold or exit.

A signal should be a starting point for your own decision, not a replacement for one. If you're going to follow signals, at minimum: risk no more than 1-2% of your account per trade, always know your invalidation level before entering, and journal every trade so you can see your real win rate over time — not the one you remember.

Built Ledger Elite around this idea: signals + the reasoning behind them + a community that actually teaches you to trade, not just follow. Happy to answer questions on risk management or position sizing below.
