I made this guide for anyone who wants to get better at drawing faces but doesn’t really know where to start.
Instead of trying to draw the whole face at once, I’ll show you how to start with something much simpler: a circle and a few basic lines. From there, you’ll learn how to build the head, place the features, understand the proportions, and slowly turn those simple shapes into a finished portrait.
I also explain the parts that confused me when I was learning, including why portraits can easily end up looking uneven or just “off” even when you think you’re following the right steps.
This isn’t about copying a finished drawing. The goal is to help you understand the structure underneath the portrait so you can eventually draw faces with more confidence on your own.
