Most personal projects die in the notes app

You already know the destination. Move apartments. Take the trip. Ship the freelance job. Host the thing. The failure is rarely the goal. It is that the work lives in five places and none of them have a definition of done.

A notes dump is not a plan. A calendar full of invented dates is not a plan. A chat with a model is not a plan.

A plan, for a personal project, is boring on purpose:

  1. One sentence for the end state.

  2. Three to seven checks you can inspect.

  3. Three to six phases, each with a start and an end.

  4. Tasks that live inside those phases.

  5. Dates only where the world forces them — a lease, a flight, an exam, a vendor lead time.

  6. A list of who you are waiting on, with a by-when.

  7. A ledger of planned vs actual spend. That is a record, not a forecast dressed up as advice.

  8. A short list of what would stall the work, and how you will notice.

If a line cannot be inspected, it is a vibe. If nobody is named on a waiting-on item, it is your task. If a phase has no end condition, it is not a phase.

I built Life Project Builder around that structure — a $9.99 one-time system, not a subscription, not a prompt pack, and not a promise the project will succeed. It will not give you legal, financial, or medical advice.

If you have a project already in motion, steal the list above and use it today. You do not need software to start. You need one project, written down, with an end.
