The 3 Mistakes Every Beginner Makes in the Gym (and How to Fix Them)
I've been training for years and I see the same mistakes every single week from beginners. Here's how to avoid them:
Mistake #1: No program, just vibes
Walking into the gym without a plan is why most people quit after 2 months. You do random exercises, feel sore, but never actually progress. Fix: follow a structured program with progressive overload built in.
Mistake #2: Ego lifting
Nobody cares how much weight is on the bar. Training with weight you can't control is how you get hurt and how you stay weak. Fix: drop the weight 20%, nail the form, then build back up.
Mistake #3: Skipping the basics
Squat. Bench. Deadlift. Row. Press. These compound movements build 90% of your physique. You don't need 15 variations of a bicep curl. Fix: master the big lifts first, add isolation work later.
If you're just starting out and want a free structured program to follow — I'm building exactly that inside LiftLab. Come through.
