Why 73% of People Won't Visit a Barber Shop Without a Website

I've built websites for barber shops for a while now, and the same pattern keeps playing out.

A shop has 200+ Google reviews, a packed Saturday schedule, and regulars who've been coming for years. But they have zero web presence — just an Instagram page with an old link in bio.

Here's the problem: new customers searching "barber shop near me" will skip you.

Google prioritizes businesses with websites. When someone moves to a new area or is looking for a fresh barber, they search online first. No website = no trust = no booking.

I had one client — a 3-chair shop in a strip mall — who was doing fine on walk-ins alone. We launched his site on a Monday. By Friday, he had 6 new bookings from people who found him on Google and said the website "made it look legit."

What actually moves the needle for a barber shop website:

  • Clear pricing (people don't want to guess)

  • A photo gallery that shows your actual work, not stock photos

  • Google reviews pulled directly onto the page

  • Tap-to-call button that works on mobile

  • Embedded map so people can find you without thinking

It's not complicated. It just needs to be done right.

If your shop doesn't have a website yet and you want one that actually brings in customers, that's exactly what I build.
