I started making short AI story videos a few weeks ago, and the one that hit hardest wasn't a cute cat doing tricks — it was a sad one. A cat with no family, living alone, dealing with an uncle who treats her badly, barely scraping by.

Turns out sadness travels further than cuteness. People don't just watch these stories, they root for the character. That emotional hook is the entire game with short-form AI content right now — plot and stakes beat production value every time.

So instead of treating this as a one-off video, I'm building it as an actual story universe: free episodes on YouTube to reach people, and a paid community for the ones who want to follow her arc closely — early episodes, deleted scenes, and the process behind making them.

If you're making AI story content and only posting one-offs, you're leaving retention on the table. Give your character a name, a conflict, and a reason to come back next week.
