Why We're Making New Games for 40-Year-Old Hardware
Everyone's chasing 4K ray tracing and 120fps. We went the other direction — we're building brand new games for the Atari 2600.
Not as a gimmick. Not as nostalgia bait. Because there's something genuinely satisfying about designing within extreme constraints.
The 2600 has 128 bytes of RAM. Not megabytes. Not kilobytes. Bytes. Every pixel, every game mechanic, every animation has to earn its place. There's no room for bloat.
Lore Lords Gladiators is an auto-battler RTS inspired by Archon and Battlechess. You place warriors on a battlefield and watch them clash. Simple to pick up, surprisingly deep once you start experimenting with positioning and unit matchups.
We just came off a tour at Classic Game Fest in Austin and the reception was incredible — people were huddled around the TV trash-talking each other in 2-player mode like it was 1983.
If you're into homebrew, retro collecting, or you just want to play something that feels different from everything else on your shelf — this is for you.
Limited numbered beta cartridges available now. Each one comes with the cart, sleeve, manual, and stickers.
