5 Things I Wish I Knew Before I Started Biohacking

I spent years and thousands of dollars figuring these out the hard way. Save yourself the trouble.

1. Sleep is the ultimate biohack

No supplement, cold plunge, or nootropic stack will outperform consistent 7-9 hours of quality sleep. I chased every shiny protocol until I fixed my sleep — and everything else improved overnight (literally).

Quick win: Block blue light 2 hours before bed. Keep your room at 65-68°F. Same wake time every day, no exceptions.

2. You don't need expensive supplements — you need the RIGHT ones

Most supplement stacks are overengineered and underdosed. The basics that actually move the needle for most people:

  • Magnesium glycinate (most people are deficient)

  • Vitamin D3 + K2 (especially if you work indoors)

  • Omega-3s (wild-caught fish oil or algae-based)

Get bloodwork done first. Stop guessing.

3. Stress management isn't optional — it's foundational

Chronic stress destroys everything: hormones, gut health, cognitive function, recovery. I was doing ice baths and tracking HRV while running on cortisol fumes. The irony.

Breathwork, meditation, and setting boundaries did more for my health than any gadget ever did.

4. Cold and heat exposure work — but consistency beats intensity

You don't need a 10-minute ice bath at 34°F to get benefits. A 60-second cold shower at the end of your regular shower, done daily, beats an extreme session once a month.

Same with sauna — 15-20 minutes at moderate heat, 3-4x per week, is where the longevity research points.

5. Community is the most underrated health protocol

The longest-lived populations on earth (Blue Zones) don't have biohacking routines. They have strong social connections. Accountability, shared meals, and genuine relationships lower inflammation and extend lifespan more than any protocol.

That's exactly why I built Mantra Matters — a community of professionals who take their health seriously and hold each other accountable.

If any of this resonates, I go way deeper inside the membership. Protocols, breakdowns, Q&A, and a community that actually shows up.

Your body is the one machine you can't replace. Treat it accordingly.
