3 Reasons Your Roblox Game Has Zero Players (And How to Fix It)

I've helped dozens of beginner devs go from 0 to their first 1,000 visits on Roblox. Same mistakes every time.

1. Your thumbnail is an afterthought

Players scroll through thousands of games. If your icon looks like a default baseplate screenshot, nobody's clicking. Spend 30 minutes making a clean thumbnail with bright colors and one clear focal point. This alone can 5x your click-through rate.

2. You're building what YOU want, not what players want

Check the Roblox Discover page. What genres are trending? Obbys, tycoons, and simulators dominate because they have proven demand. Build in a popular genre first, add your unique twist second.

3. You have no retention loop

Getting someone to JOIN your game is step one. Getting them to STAY is the real game. Add a daily reward system, progression milestones, or a leaderboard. Players need a reason to come back tomorrow.

These three fixes alone can take a dead game to thousands of visits. I break down the full playbook inside MapForge — terrain building, scripting basics, player acquisition, all of it.
