The 3-Step Product Research Framework That Found Me a $47K/Month Winner

Most people fail at e-commerce because they spend weeks "researching" products on TikTok and AliExpress, copying whatever's already saturated.

Here's the framework I actually use:

Step 1: Problem-first, not product-first.

Stop scrolling for "winning products." Instead, go to Reddit, Amazon reviews (1-3 stars), and Facebook groups in specific niches. Find people complaining about something. The complaint is the product.

Step 2: Margin math before you source.

Before you even contact a supplier, work backwards from a $30-50 AOV. Your COGS needs to be under 25% of that. Shipping under 15%. Ad spend under 30%. If the math doesn't leave you 20%+ net margin, move on. Most beginners skip this and wonder why they're "selling" but not profiting.

Step 3: Validate with $50, not $500.

Run a single video ad (UGC-style, 15 seconds) to a cold audience for $50. If you get at least 2 add-to-carts per $25 spent, you have signal. Scale from there.

This exact framework led me to a kitchen gadget niche that did $47K in month three. The product cost $4.20 to source.

I break down products like this every week inside Margin Masters with full supplier links, ad templates, and margin calculators.
