Why 90% of e-commerce sellers waste money testing products
Most Shopify sellers test products the exact same way: throw up a generic product page, run $50 in ads, and wait. If it doesn't convert in 48 hours, they kill it and move on.
The problem isn't the product. It's the process.
Here's what I've learned scaling multiple stores:
The real bottleneck is creative, not product selection.
You can have the best product in the world, but if your imagery looks like every other AliExpress screenshot on Facebook, you're dead on arrival. Ad blindness is real, and it's costing sellers thousands in wasted ad spend every month.
The fix:
Test creatives, not just products. Run 3-5 completely different visual angles before you kill a product. Most "losers" are actually winners with bad creative.
Centralize your data. If you're running multiple stores, you need one dashboard to see what's working across all of them. Spreadsheets don't scale.
Speed wins. The seller who can go from product idea → lifestyle imagery → live ad in 24 hours will always beat the seller who takes a week.
This is exactly why I built Market Metrix — AI-powered lifestyle image generation and a cross-store testing dashboard for scaling sellers.
