Why we 3D print lamps shaped like a matcha whisk

I've been obsessed with two things for years: matcha and making things with my hands.

One night I was whisking matcha and the way the light hit the chasen — the bamboo whisk — stopped me cold. The way the tines fanned out, catching shadows. It looked like it was already a lamp.

So I fired up my 3D printer and spent weeks dialing in the design. Getting the wall thickness right so the light diffuses without being harsh. Testing different filaments for that perfect warm glow.

The first one I posted online sold in 20 minutes. That's when I knew this was real.

Now we've expanded beyond the matcha whisk into our New Wave collection — fluid, organic shapes that feel alive when lit. Every lamp is printed here in the Philippines, layer by layer.

If you're the kind of person who'd rather have a conversation piece on your desk than another generic IKEA lamp, you're in the right place.

We're just getting started. 🍵
