WELCOME TO THE NETWORK

This isn't about pretending to be a billionaire.

It's not about posting fake deals.

It's not about spamming strangers.

It's about learning a real skill:

Knowing who should be talking to who.

Build your network.

Learn how to spot demand.

Learn how to find supply.

Ask better questions.

Qualify opportunities.

Make valuable introductions.

Protect your reputation.

And keep building.

Eventually, you want to go from:

"I'm looking for opportunities."

to:

"People bring opportunities to me."

That's the goal.

Find the need.

Find the person.

Make the connection.

Create the value.

Repeat. šŸ¤

Welcome to the network. šŸš€

šŸ’° GETTING PAID

HOW DOES THE MONEY ACTUALLY WORK?

There are different ways an introduction or intermediary relationship can be structured.

For example:

Fixed fee

A set amount for the agreed service.

Percentage

A percentage of a defined transaction value.

Success fee

Payment when a defined event occurs, such as completion of the transaction.

Retainer + success fee

Used where you're providing ongoing work in addition to the introduction.

There isn't one universal number.

It depends on the industry, transaction, work involved and agreement between the parties.

Most importantly:

Agree on your compensation clearly BEFORE doing the valuable work.

For serious transactions, put the arrangement in writing and get appropriate professional advice.

🚨 RED FLAGS

IF SOMETHING FEELS OFF, SLOW DOWN.

Be careful if someone:

🚩 Creates extreme urgency

🚩 Refuses basic verification

🚩 Changes their story

🚩 Provides inconsistent information

🚩 Wants money immediately

🚩 Pressures you to lie

🚩 Wants you to misrepresent your role

🚩 Won't explain the transaction properly

🚩 Promises unrealistic results

You don't need to force a deal.

Sometimes the best decision is walking away.

šŸ›”ļø DUE DILIGENCE

ALWAYS DO YOUR OWN CHECKS.

Not everything you see is legitimate.

A nice website doesn't prove anything.

A big number doesn't prove anything.

A LinkedIn profile doesn't prove anything.

Before getting seriously involved:

Verify the people.

Verify the company.

Verify the opportunity.

Understand the transaction.

Understand your role.

And if significant money or regulated activities are involved, get the appropriate professional advice.

Never risk your reputation because something looks exciting.

šŸ” FOLLOW UP

NO RESPONSE ≠ NO.

People are busy.

Follow up professionally.

First:

Hey [Name], just following up on this in case it got buried.

Later:

I've confirmed a few more details and thought I'd check whether you'd like me to send them over.

And if there's still nothing:

No worries if the timing isn't right. Happy to reconnect if it becomes relevant later.

Then move on.

Don't become the guy sending:

"??"

every 10 minutes šŸ˜‚

šŸ“© OUTREACH

KEEP YOUR MESSAGES SIMPLE.

You don't need a huge sales pitch.

Try:

Hey [Name], came across your company and noticed you're involved in [industry].

I may have access to something that could be relevant to what you're working on.

Are you the right person to speak with about this?

That's it.

The goal of the first message isn't to close the deal.

The goal is to start the conversation.

🧠 THE RIGHT MINDSET

DON'T ASK: "HOW DO I MAKE MONEY FROM THIS PERSON?"

Ask:

"HOW CAN I BE USEFUL TO THIS PERSON?"

That's the difference.

Maybe you introduce them to someone.

Maybe you find a supplier.

Maybe you send them useful information.

Maybe you connect them with a potential customer.

Maybe nothing happens immediately.

That's fine.

Good relationships compound.

One useful introduction today can turn into multiple opportunities later.

šŸ’¬ START CONVERSATIONS

DON'T OPEN WITH "DO YOU HAVE A DEAL?" šŸ˜‚

Talk normally.

Instead of:

"Do you have any opportunities?"

Try:

"What are you working on at the moment?"

Or:

"What kind of projects are you involved in?"

Or:

"Are you currently looking for any new suppliers?"

Or:

"What are you looking to source at the moment?"

Good questions uncover opportunities naturally.

You don't need to force every conversation into a transaction.

YOUR NETWORK

YOUR NETWORK IS YOUR ASSET.

Start thinking about everyone you know.

Friends.

Family.

Business owners.

University contacts.

People you've worked with.

Suppliers.

Salespeople.

Investors.

Developers.

Agents.

Manufacturers.

Other connectors.

You don't need to know everyone.

You need to know who knows who.

Someone might not be useful today.

But six months from now, they could introduce you to exactly the person you need.

Build relationships before you need them.
