For Black Women in Menopause: You Deserve a Safe Space Too
Let's talk about something that doesn't get enough attention: the experience of Black women in menopause.
Studies show Black women experience menopause symptoms for longer ā an average of 10 years compared to 6.5 years for white women. The symptoms are often more severe. And yet, Black women are less likely to receive adequate medical care for menopause.
On top of all that, there's the cultural pressure to be the strong one. Always.
The "Strong Black Woman" trap during menopause
You've been strong your whole life. For your kids. For your family. For your community. For everyone who needed you.
Now your body is changing. Your emotions are shifting. You're exhausted in a way sleep doesn't fix. And the expectation is still: hold it together.
But who holds space for you?
Why a safe space matters
You need a place where you don't have to perform strength
Where your experience isn't minimized or compared
Where someone who understands your journey simply listens
Where you can say "I'm not okay" without it becoming everyone else's crisis
This space was built for you
Mindful Moments Listening Service was created specifically for aging African American women navigating menopause. This isn't therapy. This isn't medical advice. This is a non-judgmental listening service where:
We don't judge
We don't record
We don't offer unsolicited advice
We simply listen
You've spent a lifetime being strong for everyone else. This is your space to just be.
š Your voice. Your story. Your moment.
