I dropped out of college and spent about two years being extremely busy and extremely broke. Here's the pattern I had, and the pattern I see in almost everyone who asks me for help.

You're not failing at a business model. You're failing at finishing one.

Count how many of these you've started: dropshipping, print on demand, SMMA, faceless YouTube, Amazon FBA, day trading, affiliate marketing, wholesale. Most people I talk to have touched four or five. Average time spent on each: three weeks.

Three weeks is roughly the point where a business model stops feeling exciting and starts feeling like a job. That's not the model failing. That's the model beginning. And that's exactly when a new video tells you there's something easier, so you leave.

Every one of those models works. People are making a living from every single one of them right now. The variable isn't the model, it's that they were still there in month seven.

What actually changes things:

Pick the boring one. Not the one with the highest ceiling, the one you can stomach doing on a Tuesday when you're tired and it isn't working. Enthusiasm is a terrible predictor. Tolerance is a good one.

Set a floor in reps, not in dollars. "Make $1k this month" is not a plan, it's a wish, and when it doesn't happen you conclude the model is broken. "Send 30 outreach messages a day for 60 days" is a plan. You control it completely. Hit the floor and the money question answers itself.

Give it 90 days minimum before you're allowed to judge it. Write the date down. Most things that look like failure at day 21 look like traction at day 80, and you will never find that out if you keep resetting to zero.

Track the one number that actually moves. Not followers. Not views. The number immediately upstream of revenue, which is usually conversations started. If that number is flat, nothing else you're doing matters.

The uncomfortable part: the reason model hopping feels productive is that starting is fun and finishing is not. Starting something new gives you the exact same dopamine as making progress, at none of the cost. That's why it's so hard to stop. You have to notice that you're doing it, and then sit in the boredom on purpose.

Nobody makes money from the model they're most excited about. They make it from the one they didn't quit.
