Why most tech startup videos look the same (and how to fix it)

Every SaaS product video follows the same formula: floating UI mockups, generic transitions, upbeat stock music. It's forgettable.

The startups that actually convert with video do three things differently:

1. Lead with the problem, not the product

Your viewer doesn't care about features yet. Open with the pain they feel — the broken workflow, the wasted hours. Make them nod before you show a single screen.

2. Use motion to guide attention, not decorate

Every animation should serve a purpose. A well-timed ease-in on a key metric hits harder than 30 seconds of floating particles. Less is more when every frame earns its place.

3. Match the energy to the audience

Enterprise B2B? Slow, deliberate, confident. Dev tools? Snappy, technical, no fluff. Consumer app? Playful, fast, emotional. Your motion language should feel like your brand sounds.

I run Kaze Design — I make motion graphics and product videos for tech startups that want to stand out, not blend in. If your current video could belong to any competitor, let's talk.
