MU 1D | Earnings-day shakeout, reversal close, awaiting follow-through (chart attached)

πŸ“Œ Structure

First Wave: eyeballed from 9/14 (script breakout shows 9/21–9/22, so it is marked as an eyeball call)

Pullback: 9/23–9/30, 6 US trading days (from 9/23)

Reclaim: 10/1 script RC. Closed at 1097.39 (+3.03%), back above the 10MA (about 1067)

πŸ“° 10/1 earnings day

FQ4 revenue of $54.23B and non-GAAP EPS of $33.42 both beat expectations, and FQ1-27 revenue guidance is $61.5B (beat-and-raise). Sold the news after the open, hit an intraday low of 1022.90 (under the 9/28 low of 1032) near the 20MA, then reversed and closed back up.

βœ… Supporting

β€’ 6-day pullback on light volume, about 0.62–0.69x the 50-day average.

β€’ RC-day volume 45.74M, about 1.45x the 50-day average, a clear expansion.

β€’ Intraday break, reversal close and expanding volume together are good supporting evidence.

⚠️ Not supporting / weak points

β€’ The close is still below the 9/25 high, so not a confirmed breakout.

β€’ The First Wave start is an eyeball call.

β€’ Invalidation is the 10/1 shakeout low at 1022.90, about 6.8% below the close.

🧠 One lesson

Judge a shakeout by the close and the volume, not an intraday poke. A reversal still needs follow-through, so do not treat it as confirmed.

πŸ‘€ What to watch next

A close above the 9/25 high confirms it. A close below 1022.90 invalidates the reversal. Follow-up reviews will be added to this same post.

πŸ”„ Follow-up (10/7): second shakeout, closed back above the 10MA, not yet confirmed

πŸ“‰ What happened

β€’ 10/7: intraday low of about 1011 broke the 1022.90 invalidation, then closed around 1088 (about +4.0%), back above the 10MA.

β€’ This is the second shakeout it closed back from (the first was 10/1).

πŸ“ The rule

Invalidation is a close below 1022.90, not an intraday break. Using the close is how the rule avoids getting shaken out intraday. Not invalidated.

βš–οΈ Compared with SNDK the same day

MU closed back above its 10MA, a stronger shakeout. SNDK closed back above its level but stayed under the 10MA and 20MA, so it is still weak. These two are not equally good.

🧠 Lesson

A stop is never moved lower. If you were stopped out intraday, a re-entry is a new setup: the new low as the stop, risk within about 7%, reward:risk about 2:1 or better before considering it.

πŸ‘€ Next

A close above the 9/25 high = confirmed. A close below 1022.90 = invalid. This post will be updated.

SNDK 1D | Example library: Pullback Reclaim with low RC-day volume (chart attached)

πŸ“Œ Structure

First Wave: 9/18–9/22 (script-defined, not eyeballed)

Pullback: 9/23–9/30, 6 US trading days (counted from 9/23)

Reclaim: 10/1 script RC. Closed at 1787.69 as a bullish candle above the prior close, back above the 10MA (about 1776)

βœ… Supporting

β€’ The 6-day pullback was on light volume, about 0.45–0.59x the 50-day average volume, so selling pressure after the First Wave was small.

⚠️ Not supporting / weak points

β€’ RC-day volume was only about 0.70x the 50-day average. Volume did not confirm, so the odds are lower.

β€’ Invalidation is the 9/28 low at 1659.02, about 7.2% below the 10/1 close, just over 7%. That is a wide distance, so the risk needs to be measured carefully.

🧠 One lesson

A complete structure is only step one. Check whether volume confirms. Low volume does not mean failure, but the odds are lower and you should record that honestly.

πŸ‘€ What to watch next

Does it follow through after the RC: can it hold the 10MA and the 9/28 low at 1659.02? A close below 1659.02 breaks the structure. Follow-up reviews will be added to this same post.

πŸ”„ Follow-up (10/7): intraday break again, closed back above, still weak

πŸ“‰ What happened

β€’ 10/6: closed at 1660.46, above the 1659.02 invalidation.

β€’ 10/7: intraday low of about 1618 broke 1659.02 again, then closed around 1692, back above it. Still below the 10MA and 20MA.

πŸ“ The rule

Invalidation is a close below 1659.02, not an intraday break. Using the close is how the rule avoids getting shaken out intraday. Not invalidated.

βš–οΈ Compared with MU the same day

MU closed back above its 10MA, a stronger shakeout. SNDK closed back above the level but stayed under both MAs, so it is still weak. These two are not equally good.

🧠 Lesson

A stop is never moved lower. If you were stopped out intraday, a re-entry is a new setup: the new low as the stop, risk within about 7%, reward:risk about 2:1 or better before considering it.

Back above the 10MA = improving. A close below 1659.02 = invalid. This post will be updated.
