1. Check the tags first. Older tags = older pieces. If the tag has a country of origin that's not common anymore (like "Made in USA" on a brand that outsourced decades ago), you're holding something special.

2. Feel the fabric. Vintage cotton hits different. It's heavier, softer from years of wear, and the print sits INTO the fabric, not on top of it. Modern reprints feel plasticky by comparison.

3. Look for single stitch hems. Pre-90s tees were single stitched at the sleeves and bottom hem. If you see it, pay attention.

4. Faded > pristine. A perfectly sun-faded graphic tee with a natural patina is worth 10x a deadstock reprint. The wear tells a story.
