Why most nightlife venues are wasting 40%+ of their marketing budget (and don't know it)
I spent the last stretch building software for clubs, bars, and event promoters, and the pattern is always the same: venues pour money into new customer acquisition (Instagram ads, promoter payouts, influencer pushes) while completely ignoring the customers who already showed up once and never came back.
Here's the math nobody looks at: acquiring a new attendee typically costs 5-7x more than winning back someone who already had a good night at your venue. But most venues have zero system for identifying who churned, why, or when to re-engage them.
A few things that actually move the needle if you run a venue or promote events:
Segment your past guests by recency. Someone who came 3 weeks ago needs a different message than someone who came 6 months ago.
Automate the win-back trigger. Don't rely on remembering to post a story. Set a rule: no visit in 30 days → automated outreach with an incentive tied to a specific upcoming date.
Track cost-per-returning-guest, not just cost-per-ticket. It reframes your whole marketing budget.
Run smoother door/entry ops. A clunky check-in process is a silent churn driver — people remember friction more than they remember the DJ.
I built Night Flow because I kept seeing venues manually doing (or just not doing) all of this. It's an AI layer that handles ticket sales, win-back campaigns, and event ops in one place. Happy to share what's worked if anyone here runs a venue or promotes events — drop a comment.
