3 Things I Wish I Knew Before My First Trade
I blew my first account in 2 weeks. Not because the market was against me — because I had no idea what I was looking at.
Here's what would've saved me months of pain:
1. The chart tells you everything — if you know how to read it.
Most beginners chase indicators, signals, and "hot tips." None of that matters if you can't read raw price action. A single candlestick can tell you more than 5 lagging indicators stacked together. Learn to read the chart naked before you add anything to it.
2. Support and resistance isn't optional — it's the entire game.
Every big move starts from a level. Every reversal happens at a level. If you don't know where the key levels are, you're trading blind. Draw them on every timeframe. Obsess over them.
3. Risk management isn't boring — it's the only reason profitable traders stay profitable.
I used to think risk management was for people who didn't trust their setups. Wrong. It's the reason you survive long enough to get good. Never risk more than 1-2% of your account on a single trade. Ever.
Price action and technical analysis aren't magic — they're skills. And like any skill, they can be learned from scratch if you put in the work.
That's exactly what we focus on inside NMAcademy.
