The 3-Notebook System That Changed How I Work
Most people take notes wrong. They dump everything into one place and wonder why they can never find anything.
After years of testing systems, I landed on something dead simple that actually works. I call it the 3-Notebook System:
Notebook 1: Capture — This is your inbox. Every idea, meeting note, random thought goes here. No organization, no formatting. Just get it down fast.
Notebook 2: Process — Once a day (I do it at 5pm), go through your Capture notebook. Move anything actionable into your Process notebook, organized by project. Delete the rest.
Notebook 3: Reference — Long-term knowledge. Frameworks, SOPs, key decisions, things you'll need again in 3 months. This is your second brain.
The magic isn't in any single notebook — it's in the daily 15-minute review that connects them.
Most professionals lose 2-3 hours a week searching for information they already wrote down. This system cuts that to zero.
I go deeper on this inside NoteFlow, including templates and scheduling frameworks that pair with it. But honestly, just try the 3-notebook approach for a week and see what happens.
