Why your Reels look amateur even when the content is good

Spent the last year editing content for creators and noticed the same pattern over and over: the content is genuinely good, but the edit makes it look thrown together. Three fixes that took people from 200 views to consistent 10k+:

  1. Cut your intro to under 1.5 seconds. If there's no hook by second 2, the algorithm doesn't care how good the rest is.

  2. Match your caption font/animation style across every video. Inconsistent styling is the #1 subconscious "amateur" signal viewers pick up on.

  3. Add a pattern-interrupt (zoom, flash, sound cue) every 3-4 seconds. Attention spans on Reels/TikTok are brutal — you're fighting to keep eyes on screen every few seconds.

The fastest way to fix all three without learning After Effects is to start from a template built by someone who's already tested what retains. That's literally why I built NOWHR — ready-to-edit Canva/CapCut templates so you spend your time on content, not on fighting software.
