AI tools are not an operating system
Most operators I sit with already have ChatGPT, a couple of automations, and a folder of prompts.
None of that is an operating system.
An operating system has a bottleneck, a use case, a skill, a model, a cheap tool, a workflow, a test, and a handover. Miss any one of those and you are collecting software.
I have watched this in Travel, Real Estate, and Digital Product businesses. Same pattern. Leads come in. Someone copy-pastes. Sales stalls in a spreadsheet. Support answers the same five questions. The founder thinks they “need more AI.” They need architecture.
The sequence that actually ships:
AUDIT → ARCHITECT → BUILD → TEST → HANDOVER
Pick one leak. Map it. Build the workflow on the tools you already pay for. Test it on a real job before you hang up. Leave with the SOP so the team can run it on Tuesday without you.
If you try to automate the whole company in one sitting, you will automate nothing.
One use case. Live. Then the next one.
