Why most founder networking is a waste of time (and what actually works)

I've been in dozens of networking groups, mastermind calls, and founder events over the years.

Most of them are a waste of time.

Here's the pattern: too many people, too little trust, too much "let's grab a call sometime." Everyone's selling. Nobody's building. You leave with a stack of business cards and zero real relationships.

What actually works is a small, curated group of people who are already winning — and who are accountable to each other.

The difference comes down to three things:

1. Selectivity. When everyone has to qualify to be in the room, the quality of every conversation goes up. You're not explaining who you are or what you do. You're talking to peers.

2. Consistency. One-off events don't build relationships. Recurring touchpoints do. Weekly coffee, monthly dinners, a channel where people actually talk. Repetition builds trust.

3. Shared stakes. The best groups have a culture where members actively help each other — not because they have to, but because they've seen it come back around.

That's what we built with Palm Beach Founders Club. Private, application-based, local. For founders, CEOs, and investors in Palm Beach County who are serious about who's in their circle.
