It's not "bookkeeping." It's matching.

Invoice says $1,247.63. Receipt says $1,247.63 plus a $4.12 card fee. Bank shows $1,251.75. Now you're hunting a $4.12 ghost at 9pm.

I built Paperless Bridge because I kept watching finance people do this by hand:

• Open the invoice

• Open the receipt

• Open the bank line

• Squint

• Repeat 80 times

Three rules that actually cut the time:

1. Never reconcile from memory. If the vendor, date, and amount aren't on the same row, it isn't done.

2. Treat card fees and shipping as split lines, not "close enough." Close enough is how you get a $400 miss at month-end.

3. One month at a time. A clean January is worth more than a half-done year.
