Little Reader Foundations is a 42-day, evidence-informed early literacy programme for children aged 3–6, designed to help parents build the essential foundations that support learning to read.
Rather than rushing children into worksheets or expecting reading before they are ready, the programme develops the foundations first. Through short, purposeful, play-based activities, children practise listening, rhyming, syllables, beginning sounds, blending, letter–sound connections, vocabulary, comprehension and storytelling.
Each week follows a carefully structured progression, moving from broad listening skills toward sound awareness, early print connections and meaningful interaction with books and stories.
Every activity includes three developmental levels, allowing parents to adapt the challenge to their child’s current abilities.
No teaching experience or expensive equipment is needed. Most activities use books, toys, conversation and everyday household items.
The programme draws on principles from early literacy research, developmental psychology and education, including phonological awareness, interactive reading, retrieval, spacing and scaffolding.
42 days. Purposeful play. Stronger foundations for reading.
