Been fixing business PCs for a while now, and the same three issues show up over and over — none of them look urgent until they've already cost someone a day of work:

1. Slow boot times nobody investigates.

A PC that takes 3+ minutes to boot isn't "just old" — it's usually 15-20 startup programs fighting for resources, a failing drive, or malware quietly running in the background. Multiply that by every employee, every morning, and you're bleeding hours nobody tracks.

2. "It'll update eventually" backlogs.

Deferred Windows/driver updates pile up until one forced update mid-workday breaks something critical — usually right before a deadline. Small, scheduled updates beat one giant forced one every time.

3. No one owns the printer/network drivers.

In shops without dedicated IT, printer and shared-drive issues get passed around until someone just gives up and emails files to themselves. It's a productivity leak that's invisible until you add up the minutes.

None of these need a full-time IT hire to fix — they need someone checking in regularly. That's literally why I started doing PC support on a per-ticket basis instead of pushing subscriptions nobody needs: submit what's broken, get a real fix, done.
