The 3 mistakes every beginner makes in the gym (and how to actually fix them)

I've seen hundreds of beginners walk into the gym, grind for weeks, and quit because they're not seeing results. It's almost never effort — it's approach.

Mistake #1: Program hopping. You do chest day from one YouTube video, legs from another, and some random ab circuit from TikTok. There's no structure, no progressive overload, no tracking. Pick ONE program and run it for 8 weeks minimum.

Mistake #2: Eating "clean" but not enough. You can eat the cleanest diet on earth, but if you're trying to build muscle and you're eating 1,500 calories, you're spinning your wheels. Track your protein for 2 weeks — most beginners are shocked at how little they're actually eating.

Mistake #3: Skipping the boring stuff. Nobody wants to do mobility work, warm-ups, or deload weeks. But the people who do are the ones still training injury-free a year from now.

If this resonates, I'm building a free community at Peak Form where I post structured programs, nutrition guidance, and answer questions directly. Come through.
