The 3 mistakes every beginner makes in the gym (and how to actually fix them)

I've been training for years and coaching beginners for a while now. The same 3 mistakes come up every single time:

1. Program hopping. You don't need a new program — you need to stick with one for 12 weeks. Progressive overload on compound lifts (squat, bench, deadlift, overhead press) will do more for you in 3 months than switching programs every 2 weeks for a year.

2. Ignoring nutrition. You can't out-train a bad diet. If you're trying to lose fat, you need a calorie deficit. Trying to build muscle? Slight surplus + enough protein (0.7-1g per lb of bodyweight). It's not complicated, people just skip it.

3. Ego lifting. Nobody cares how much weight is on the bar. Drop the weight, nail your form, and actually feel the muscle working. Your joints will thank you in 10 years.

If you're a beginner and want a structured approach to all of this — training, nutrition, form — that's exactly what Peak Physique Academy is built for. No fluff, just what works.
