The 3 recovery mistakes keeping you stuck at the same weight

Most intermediate lifters hit a wall around the 1-2 year mark. You've made all the beginner gains, your lifts are stalling, and adding more volume isn't working anymore.

Here's the thing — it's almost never a training problem. It's a recovery problem.

Mistake #1: Treating sleep like it's optional

You don't grow in the gym. You grow when you sleep. If you're getting less than 7 hours, you're leaving gains on the table. Deep sleep is when GH peaks. Period.

Mistake #2: Ignoring training-nutrition timing

You don't need to eat within 30 seconds of your last set. But if you're training fasted and not eating for 3+ hours after, you're handicapping protein synthesis during your highest-sensitivity window.

Mistake #3: No deload protocol

"I don't need deloads, I feel fine." Cool — your CNS doesn't. If you've been running a linear program for 12+ weeks without a planned deload, your nervous system is accumulating fatigue you can't feel yet. Until you can.

I break down the science behind all of this inside Peak Protocol — weekly deep-dives on training, nutrition, and recovery for lifters who want to actually optimize, not just grind.
