Why I started drawing things before they disappear

There's a coffee shop on my street that's been there for 30 years. The paint is peeling in this perfect way — layers of turquoise under white under cream. Last month I sat outside and sketched it.

Two weeks later they renovated. Fresh coat of grey. The sketch is the only record of what it looked like.

That's kind of what started all of this. I kept noticing details that were temporary — the way rust forms on a gate hinge, how moss fills the cracks in old stone, the exact shade of light through a window at 4pm in November. Things that won't look the same next year, or next month.

So I started documenting them. Pencil sketches for the textures I could feel. Watercolour for the ones I could only see. Photography for the moments that lasted seconds.

Somewhere along the way, designer friends started asking for the files. They were using my sketches as textures in their work, my photos as backgrounds, my watercolours as overlays. The imperfections were the whole point — they added something stock assets never could.

That's what the Perspective Pack is. Not stock art. Not AI-generated. Just a collection of real moments, captured by hand, that you can bring into your own creative work.

If you're a designer or artist who's tired of the same generic assets, this might be what you're looking for.
