Trapping without sealing is why people have the same mouse problem every winter — you remove the ones inside and the same gap lets the next ones in. A mouse gets through an opening the width of a dime, a rat through a quarter. So the job is finding and closing every one of those, and the trapping is the easy half. We seal in metal and mortar, because rodents chew straight back through expanding foam.
