This is one of the best sunset shot I ever took.

Most people think good photography is about expensive gear. It's not. Here are 3 things I focus on every single shoot:

1. Lighting is everything.

Shoot during golden hour (the hour after sunrise or before sunset). The light is soft, warm, and makes anyone look incredible. Avoid harsh midday sun — it creates unflattering shadows.

2. Clean your background.

Before you click the shutter, scan the edges of your frame. A stray trash can or a random person walking by can ruin an otherwise perfect shot. Move 2 feet in any direction and the background changes completely.

3. Get closer.

Most beginner photos are taken too far away. Step in. Fill the frame with your subject. The details — a ring on a finger, the texture of a dress, a genuine laugh — that's where the magic is.
